A time to scrap....

On Easter Monday before my friend Marilyn heads off to Qld to spend some time scrapping with her daughter & her niece Anne P she got a little warmed up at my place. Our husbands were busy painting our house and she & I set to work joined by Marilyn's boarder, Christine pictured here next to her and my friend Lovely Linda whom many would know. I don't know why I am looking so unimpressed!! LOL!!

Got all of these pages done except the top right which I did at Ann's the week before! Just need to finish them off, but not much to do....

Addicted

I actually did not make cards last night as I was tired and went to sleep early. However the night b4 I managed to get another 2 cards made for a couple of challenges. Didn't get a chance to post them yesterday so here they are.

This one was inspired by the picture below.

The challenge can be found on the site 'For Your Inspiration'.

We are painting!

We decided to not go to Sydney as we had hoped over the extra long weekend but to make the most of the days off and get some painting down around the house. We have been talking about it for some time but now that we have decided to move into a townhouse, we really have to get this house ready to sell. There is not heaps to do, but we have 3 bedrooms to paint, family & kitchen area to paint, new carpet needs to go down & tiles on the laundry floor.

So the room we started with is Tam's old room, which had so many holes in the wall because she had so many pictures up which meant lots of repairing for Shaun. The next difficult thing was choosing a paint that we could put right through the rest of the place, something neutral.....we found that we liked the colour friends had painted their feature wall in their lounge so we got the name of it and got a sample point made up, took it home but Bunnings must have mixed the wrong colour. It was horrible, and nothing like the colour we chose. So back we went and I urged my 'team leader' to choose the colour I liked but in a half tint. I think it is perfect, the others aren't so sure. Neutral with warmth.....see what you reckon!!!

So as you can see the very old carpet is grey and that needs to be replaced as well, so we will have to chase that all up as well. As it was Anzac day yesterday, the shops didn't open til 1pm, which meant we couldn't get the paint (we forgot it was Anzac Day!) til then, so it was a late start and a late finish and Shaun was almost painting in the dark as he finished off the hallway too. Thanks Denis for your help with this we really appreciate it (especially Marilyn & I!!)

Ships Ahoy!!

Last night I slept a bit earlier and so only got one card made after our visitors had left. This I made for the Raise the Bar challenge which was Nautical / Navy & White / Stripes. Also thought it would go into the Masculine Challenge at Meljens Design Challenge. I inked the embossing folder in Denim then embossed white card, tore strips of navy patterned paper and embossed them too. Stamped the ship onto vellum, which I then chalked in some colour. I added the vellum with studs and then the sentiment tag. So it was quite quick and easy, but I thought it came to together rather well hope you do too!! Added it to the Bunny Zoe's Crafts - One for the boys!

Letting the paper do the work!!

I had forgotten all about this background paper but when going through my scraps looking for something I could use to do the Jac-inks layout challenge I found it. I thought it was an easy way to achieve the layout, so used it.....bit lazy hey......but when you are pushed for time and it does the work...GREAT!!!! I had just borrowed the stamps from Lovely Linda and the vellum butterflies were left over from the card stack class on Monday night. I have also had the ribbon for ages. I used the very last one of my Stampin' Up Antique brads, so will HAVE to get some more as I LOVE them. So sometimes a layout maybe a bit overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be. This card was simple and quick yet when I saw the layout I was thinking it was going to take me a while. Also added it to Flutter By Wednesday's open challenge just had to have butterlfies!!

Pretty in Pink

I have made this card for the CR84FN Colour Challenge. I love the bird cage and so wanted to use it on a card and so was thinking of something pretty. When I saw the colours for this challenge I knew what I could do. The large flower is Prima, and the butterflies I had bought at the last Craft Show, don't know who makes them sorry!!

Also entered into Anita Be Stampin Challenge
plus Top Tip Tuesday
also Karens Doodles Challenge Blog
& Oldie but a Goodie Challenge
also Truly Scrumptious

Amber's Crafts and Stuff Challenge is My Favourite Things....mine are the colour pink, butterflies and I love the bird cage and Prima flowers......so this card works for me!!!

The small roses were actually cheapies, & pale pink, so I inked them up with the rose pink and they look heaps better! Also entered in the ABC challenge, & the Tuesday Throwdown & the Incy Wincy Designs Challenge, & the Papertake Weekly Challenge, Woodward USA Clear Stamps Challenge, Scrappy Frogs Challenge, Flourishes Boutique.

Recycle....

It's great to find bits and pieces around the house that you can use in your card making. Today I found an old music book of my daughters from ages ago and have used the cover of it to add some music to my background on my card. I have also used The Layers of Colors Fleur Heart Stamp which I just LOVE!! Entered this card also in Craft Your Passion Challenge

I keep saying this, but when I make cards for challenges I really do just use what scrap I have in my filing cabinet so I always recycle in a sense anyway, not much goes to waste!! So if you want a challenge here it is: Only use scraps for the next month......let me know if you are in on it!!

Creative Colouring In

At my friend Jean's card making class on Monday night we did a technique of stamping in white ink on black card then colouring in with prima pencils. The soft lead really lends itself to good strong colours. It was very relaxing & with only 2 of us there, we had a lovely time. I put the cards together at home, adding some Layers of Color butterflies as well as some bought ones. I hope you like them! Entered into the PaperCrafting Journey Challenge also the Crazy Challenge CCH#61 also There's Magic in the Air

This card was entered into the Crafty Purple Frog Challenge of Anything but Square. Also add I did it Creations Challenge one last challenge was at Tellen's Place
Last but not least, the card below fits the Stampin' Sister's in Christ Challenge.
