Gone but always remembered

In the early hours of Tues 13th of March the tubes that were keeping my dear Shaun alive were taken out. In just 12 short minutes he reached the end of his journey here on earth. In 40 minutes his lungs, liver, kidneys, eye tissue and heart valves were on their way to change peoples lives. He had been surrounded by all his family except one brother & two nephews who all had the chance to say good bye whilst he was able to hear & see them. 28 of us gathered around his bed, the youngest only 7. He is resting now, waiting for the trump to sound, and for his creator to take him home to heaven. Rest in Peace my best friend, my husband, Shaun Alfred McGrath you will be remembered always for your steadfast love of the Lord, for your generosity, for your wacky sense of humour, your honesty and loyalty.

  1. Deb, my heart aches for you in your loss. You have been so supportive of Shaun and a wonderful wife. He was a lovely man and right to the end gave of himself to help others. It's comforting to know that we will see him again when God calls us home. May God's love comfort and heal you as you grieve. Big ((HUGS)) and much love to you my friend. Jules xxoo

  3. Seems like only yesterday that you were a young girl teaching my son (Joseph) in Sabbath School at Brighton Church - you & your friend Pam Groves. We were all so young & full of dreams & hopes. Who could have known what you would have been called on to face in life - but you have shown yourself to be strong in the face of sorrow & I will be thinking of you in the months to come - it will not be easy but with family & good friends to support you & a strong faith you will be ok. Knowing that others have been blessed by the wonderful gift Shaun has given to them to give them life, sight, a second chance, must be of great comfort to you.

  5. What a beautiful tribute for a wonderful man! Your love for Shaun shines as brightly as the love we saw you had for each other Debby. So many people search their whole lives to find such love - but you have been blessed by finding it with your soulmate. What a beautiful reunion in Heaven, where love is eternal and sorrow is no longer! Love always and all ways my dear friend! {{{hugs}}}
